This is a very large, traditional, and woodsy lakefront cabin on gorgeous Little Twin Lake, which is one of the clearest lakes in Michigan! The cabin is very cozy, comfortable, casual, and spacious, allowing large groups and extended families to unwind and relax. Includes use of a huge deck with a great lakeview, a large dock, 5 kayaks, and a rowboat! Two large master bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathrooms! This wonderful home truly provides for a great family or group getaway!
THE SPACE:
The cabin is very traditional in styling, with a charming woodsy northern Michigan style throughout the cabin. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. (Each of the two bedrooms on the main floor have their own private en-suite full bathroom.) On the second floor there are 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom.
The cabin has a forced air gas furnace for heating in the winter and it has partial air-conditioning for the summer. (Bedrooms #1, #3, #4, and #5 all have their own window A/C units.)
The cabin includes high-speed Wi-Fi and two live streaming televisions. In addition to all of the lake activities, the property also includes a horseshoe pit, basketball hoop, and cornhole, allowing for great family fun!
THE AREA:
The cabin is on Little Twin Lake, which is a "no wake" lake. (This means that slow-moving fishing and pontoon boats are allowed, but jet skis and ski boats are not permitted.) Little Twin Lake is great for fishing with lots of bass and perch in the lake! Big Twin Lake, which is just to the north, does allow speed boats, jet skis, and water skiing though. Both Little Twin Lake and Big Twin Lake have public boat launches.
The cabin is outside the little northern Michigan town of Mancelona, which has a few shops, restaurants, a good ice cream parlor (Dairy Delight), and a gas station or two. The cabin is also close to gorgeous and regionally famous Torch Lake.
The cabin is in the heart of snowmobiling and ORV country and is just a short drive from great regional snowmobiling and ORV trails! There are also a number of golf courses in the area and the area is absolutely beautiful for fall color tours! Furthermore, the cabin is close to Boyne Mountain and Shanty Creek for skiing and snowboarding. The location truly provides for 4 seasons of outdoor fun in northern Michigan!
Although deep into nature, the cabin is only a 40-minute drive from Traverse City. Traverse City is the business, finance, shopping, dining, and entertainment center for all of northern Michigan and it has a wonderful variety of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, parks, and museums. Grand Traverse Mall, the main shopping mall for all of northern Michigan, is also in Traverse City.

* NUMBER OF GUESTS: Please note that we allow up to 16 guests in total, but no more than 10 adults. Please make certain that there are no more than 10 adults staying.
* GUEST ACCESS: Guests have access to the entire house, except for 2 closets that are locked off for storage. Guests do not have access to the large detached garage. Guests also are not permitted to use the pontoon boat, but they do have access to the 5 kayaks and the rowboat.
* BEDS: Note that all beds are new memory foam mattresses that have been purchased since January, 2021.
* PETS: Up to 2 dogs are allowed. Ask first if bringing more than 2 dogs. Pets other than dogs are strictly prohibited. If bringing dogs, please make certain that they are included on the reservation so that the pet fee is properly applied.
* GARAGE: The large detached garage (not shown in photos) is locked off and is not available for guests to use.
* PONTOON BOAT: The pontoon boat that is shown in the photos is not available for guest usage.
* PARKING: There is a large parking area at the property and the property easily accommodates up to 5 vehicles. There is also space for parking boat trailers, snowmobile trailers, and/or ORV trailers.
* QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please be mindful of the neighbors. No loud noises, shouting, or music. Common with cottages: many neighbors sleep with the windows open and sounds carry very loudly in the lake area. Please help keep everyone’s experience a pleasant one. Thank you!
