Positive: My experience at Melrose saved a recent trip my husband and I took to Texas. It was supposed to be a warm getaway...until an ice storm hit! The staff at Melrose were exceptional, checking in on us and making sure we were ok. Every single person I interacted with there was a pleasure to talk with. Additionally, the room was nice and snug for 2 people to share. The bed and linens were incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor shower was a bonus (though only my husband got to use it prior to storm prep). The location was really conveniently located to get around the area. We will be looking to come back in the spring/summer to take full advantage of this property and what San Marcos has to offer.

Negative: Just an fyi, the bathroom door in the casitas is a sliding barn door. Ours kept sliding open due to being not quite level. Not a problem for us though as we just used a shoe to keep it from opening.

Summary: I highly recommend staying at Melrose!
